Delicious Bookmarks
I think this will take me more time to get the hang of using this tool. I can see the use of the service for my own bookmarking, but the social aspect has me wondering if I would have time or take the time to fully utilize the potential for sharing and viewing other people's tags, etc. I tend to use what I need on the Internet, and do not find myself looking for new things or browsing as much as I should. I do plan to get a delicious account and try it out, however. Even if it just keeps my favorites more organized, I guess it would be worth a try!

I use delicious strictly for myself -- I have one account that's dedicated to work, and another account that's personal. As it is a social tool, I typically do not use it for that -- it's just simply my list of bookmarked links. I don't fret too much about how other people will read my list of links (it's not like my history of viewed pages total, thank goodness!). And tag things so that they make sense to you. "I liked this article because it talked about B and C. So I will tag it only as 'B' and 'C' even though it was really about 'D'."
ReplyDeleteThe part that's nice as a social tool is, for example, web developers can see how many people have found their particular page/s interesting enough to bookmark. Or, if you are looking for subject A, you can see how many other people also like 'A' and then find more web pages about A that your previous searches didn't find.
All this 2.0 stuff should really be named "To make your life easier". :)
